Closet Strategy: Leather Jacket

Leather is proving to be fashionable once again this season and what better way to incorporate this trend than with a basic leather bomber jacket?

Lefties leather bomber jacket
Here are some ways I like to wear my leather jacket:

Outfit 1: Rebel with a Cause
There's something really cool and James Dean-ish about a leather jacket and aviator sunnies. I wanted to keep the outfit simple so I wore this jacket with jeans and a plain white tee, thereby making this jacket the focus of the outfit. This is a perfect look for a day out running errands.

Top: Forever 21 t-shirt
Bottoms: American Eagle boyfriend jeans
Accessories: Vintage aviator sunglasses, Juicy Couture clutch
Shoes: Zara pumps

Outfit 2: Perfectly Preppy
The nice thing about a leather bomber jacket is that it adds the perfect amount of edge to any outfit! I wanted to spice up the simple outfit from the previous look so I switched out my plain jeans for these cute polka-dot ones. A blouse and a bright cardigan gives this look a preppy feel, but the jacket makes it a bit edgy. This is a good outfit to wear to school or going out with friends.

Top: H&M blouse, H&M cardigan
Bottoms: Forever 21 jeans
Accessories: H&M satchel, H&M necklace, vintage pearl earrings
Shoes: Glaze by Adi sandals

Outfit 3: Feminized
I like how a leather jacket looks with a flirty dress. The juxtaposition of sweet and edgy creates an interesting look. While the jacket is tough, the A-Line silhouette of this dress feminizes the look. I would wear this outfit for a casual date night.

Dress: Target dress
Accessories: Forever 21 clutch, Stradivarius beanie, Lilly Pulitzer belt
Shoes: Forever 21 shoes

Do you like leather bomber jackets? Are you a fan of the traditional black or do you favor colorful leather?

  7. I love leather for this season and the bomber jacket you got is such a perfect staple for any wardrobe. Love all the different outfits you wore. Such a versatile coat! My favorite is the first one. I like the jacket with the boyfriend jeans and casual tee. I also like how you mixed the more casual look with pumps. Very cute!

  8. I finally watched Rebel without a Cause in class last semester and the whole time I was distracted by JAMES DEAN and LEATHER JACKET OMG. I really like the assortment of shoes that you modeled here, and how you mix up your casual and office outfits.

  34. Dearest Deborah, now I´m a bit sad because I gave my bomber leather jacket my daughter. Than I like each of your looks with that cool leather jacket you own <3 And I like you really if you wear boyfriend jeans as in the first look, they are so cool on you and at least as good looking than James Dean :)

And regarding your question: at the moment I prefer black leather jackets but I know me since such a long time that this opinion can change very soon ;)

Hope you had a fantastic week so far <3
