Closet Strategy: Romper

Today I want to try styling my romper in different ways. When these first became popular I was kind of repulsed by them because they reminded me of onesies that babies wear. Now that I've found one that is super comfortable and cute-looking to boot, I wanted to maximize the wears I get on this. So here are some ways to wear the romper:

Outfit 1: Fall Ready

If you're not ready to completely commit to a romper, why not wear them like shorts instead? Layer a sweater over the romper to fight the Autumn chill and slip into a cute pair of ankle boots  for look that is perfect for Fall.

Top: Forever 21 sweater (similar here)
Accessories: Bershka bag (similar by Lulu Townsend), Geneva watch, Forever 21 bangle (similar here), Loulou's bracelets, Forever 21 belt (came with the romper)
Shoes: ASOS boots (similar here)

Outfit 2: Smart-Casual

I think blazers are the solution to everything! I love how this oversized blazer manages to make such a whimsical piece more mature. I added heeled oxfords and a satchel to keep the smart vibe constant. This would be a great outfit for a coffee date with friends

Top: H&M boyfriend blazer (similar here)
Accessories: Forever 21 belt (came with romper), Geneva watch, Forever 21 satchel (similar here), Forever 21 glasses (similar by MLC)

Shoes: Payless oxfords (similar by Spring Step)

So tell me what you think of my outfits! And if you have some ideas or blog posts of the ways you styled your rompers, let me know/link me up! I love seeing your creativity through your comments :]

  3. Smart-casual is my favorite---I love the nerdy hipster look and you pull off glasses so well. And it doesn't hurt that I have all those pieces in my closet. Hope you don't mind if I save this as later outfit inspo.

  4. Love wearing sweaters over rompers! Many of my rompers have cuter prints than my shorts, hehe. In love with both of these outfits <3 I'd pull them off for school anyday!! :) X

  6. This was an awesome post!! I loved how you basically told me steps I could try to make a romper wearable! I LOLed at your first comment about initially being repulsed by a romper, I had the same feeling of "baby-wear". But after this post I really feel like I could do it.. THANK YOU!!

  25. LOVE this!! I was also completely repulsed by rompers at first but now I'm in love haha. They're just so cute! I am obsessed with the first look...I need to get some cute sweaters for fall, it's just hard to shop for them when it's still so hot out.

  26. I absolutely love both looks. Both are great ideas for wearing a romper and I love how you showed in look #1 that a romper can easily be worn in the Fall.
