Kids | Floral Skirt and Ankle Boots

Marvelous Monday everyone!

A friend I went to high school with announced her pregnancy recently and I don't get it.
I graduated high school in 2008 (I'm dating myself here) so I suppose I'm not technically too young to have kids but I still can't help it that my first reaction to the news was, "You're having children? WTF I am a children!"
I don't want any of you guys to walk away from this post believing that I think having kids is bad or even having kids at a young age is bad. Not at all! I firmly believe that everyone matures at different paces and some people reach a place where they are ready to have kids faster than people like me who still giggle at the word 'penis' and 'duty' (I just laughed as I wrote this, in fact). I guess it's just hard for me to take in that we're the same age but some people just have it together while I'm sitting here in my pajamas, writing this blog while watching 'Friends' on Netflix with some Cheetohs crumbs next to me, wondering why I'm single.

Props to parents everywhere! You folks are amazing!

  5. Hahah, I have the same reaction! I graduated in 2010, so just a couple years behind and I feel like "I am a children, too".... LOL. I do plan on having children in my close (but not too close) future.. But some of my classmates already have three year old children! Yikes.

Love your outfit, I especially wish I owned that skirt. Thank you for sharing a "similar" link, I may just see how that Romwe skirt you suggest holds up!

    Much Love,

  6. Okay, first - you look great and that skirt is seriously adorable! Second - I'm even a little older than you and I totally know what you mean! I sometimes forget that my peers are having kids, like, on purpose and then I remember that I'm supposed to be an adult. Oops!

  7. I don't know how some people do it! I graduated a year before you and I have to say that I am nowhere near even thinking about having kids. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love kids and I love my friends who have kids--but I just know that I am not competent enough to be responsible for another human's life. I'd end up leaving them at a shoe sale or something!

Glad you blogged about this--it's something a lot of us must be thinking about!

  8. You look so cute :) And I totally get you. I was shocked when I friend of mine told me she was going to get married xD

  9. I totally get it - I keep seeing girls that I went to school with getting pregnant and engaged these days, and one actually got married, and we are only 20!!!!!!! I am definitely not treaty for that now and probably won't be ready until my late 20's! I can't imagine not feeling like a teenager still for quite a while yet aha! Love this outfit!
