Winter 2014/2015 Favorites

Hello beauties!

What a winter it's been! I feel like so much has gone on these past few months so before it ends completely, I wanted to share some of my favorite things this past season:
Winter '14/'15 Faves
Makeup
  • Naked 3 palette: I got this eyeshadow palette back in June 2014 and my oh my is it gorgeous! It's such a beautiful palette with lovely rosy colors that's flattering on a wide variety of skin tones! I can use it for an everyday natural look or a very glamorous holiday look!
  • Maybelline Cat-Eye mascara: This is a new mascara I tried. I have very short, sparse, sticks-straight-down Asian lashes and I have a hard time finding a mascara that will hold a curl. I've never used a mascara like this before - my curl will last literally all day!!
  • Makeup Forever lipstick in N9 : I got this as a free birthday gift from Sephora and I honestly love it! It's a very flattering neutral shade. Think, "my lips but better." Once I run out, I'm definitely buying the full sized version.
Nails
  • OPI "Steady She Rose": I love love love this color for every day. I wear it to work all the time and it gives such a subtle and soft but ladylike color that goes with everything. I highly recommend this for days where you want to have something on your nails but need to look professional.
  • CoverGirl XL Gel Polish in "Raspberry": I love how deep and complicated this berry shade is! It's quite a stunner and the formula is fantastic! Marsala was named Pantone's color of the year so this is right up that alley for all you trend-lovers!
  • Essie "After School Boy Blazer": I've never saw such a perfect 'true navy' polish before! The color is so dark (almost black) but has the loveliest sheen and I can see this becoming a staple in my Winter stash.
Fashion
  • Tory Burch bag: I have been waiting years to get my hands on this bag so I was super happy to buy it on sale during Black Friday. I love the versatile quality, the saffiano leather, and the lovely color!
  • Sole Society Jenn pumps: Ohmygoodness my love for these shoes knows no bounds!! I love the d'orsay design, the leopard print, the pointy toes - everything!! I've featured it in a lot of outfit posts because it's so hard not to pair them with everything!
  • H&M cat beanie: This beanie = love! I've worn it so many times to combat the chilly morning air. Absolutely cute and cheeky!
Hair
  • Short Hair: I got a long bob haircut this winter and I'm actually really loving it!
  • Batiste dry shampoo: Although I don't like to wash my hair too often, it gets so oily so fast! Luckily dry shampoos are a thing now and I worship at the Temple of Batiste. Highly recommend this to everyone!
  • Goody Spin Pins: I don't know how I managed to do my hair without these in the past. Seriously, these are amazing. One spin pin does the work of 20 bobby pins! I stick two of these in my hair bun and I don't readjust during the day. At all. No joke!
Movies, Books, TV
  • Birdman: Hoo wow, this film... Trust me, guys, there's a reason this movie was nominated for all those awards at the Oscars. Such an amazing film and Michael Keaton is extraordinary in it!
  • Egghead: My friend Jen and I are planning a joint review on this poetry book quite soon because it's just that good. I hope you guys will enjoy it and I can't recommend this book enough!
  • Doctor Who: Peter Capaldi has been a fantastic Doctor so far and I'm highly enjoying his take on the time lord. It's been an incredible season and I can't wait for more!
What were some of your favorite things this Winter?

  2. Every time you post about those Sole Society pumps I wish I had them in my closet! That OPI shade looks gorgeous, is it pretty opaque when applied? I still want to see Birdman, so I'm glad it made it into your favorites. Love your shorter hair too!
