Knots | Printed Shirt and Navy Trousers

Wondrous Wednesday, lovelies!

I bought this shirt back in July. I LOVE popover shirts because they seem so much less stiff and more casual that crisp button-downs while still having an element of professionalism about them. I like the stripes on them as they give the shirt a more classic feel while the knots are a nautical and whimsical detail that I just adore. This shirt has been my wardrobe workhorse as of late!
If you've followed my blog for a while, you'll know that navy is my favorite color to wear and around a formal office, I think that navy is perfect if you want to go for a more approachable look. I tend to avoid wearing all black because I think it makes me look like I'm going for a job interview everyday and grays tend to wash me out. I like navy because it's a bit more relaxed and gives a more inviting feel.

Tell me about some of your work wardrobe pieces? What's your favorite office-friendly color?

Also, I want to touch a bit on the tragedies happening in the world right now. I mentioned the attacks in Paris this past weekend but violence is all around us and people are hurting. With this in mind, I don't want to appear insensitive by touting around an OOTD and monetizing on tragedy so I am not going to do affiliate links for this post. I hope you guys can understand.

  2. This looks like a perfect office look, Deborah! Formal, but definitely very stylish and sophisticated! Your outfit definitely gave me an inspiration to try out a combination like this myself, because I have been working at an insurance company for more than 2 months and I am running out of ideas! :)

  3. I love this! Sorry I always say that, I just love all the outfits!! Ha!! I think my favorite office color is black, but I choose black daily so this doesn't really count LOL.

Very thoughtful of you to forego affiliate links for this post as a nod to world tragedies. ;)

  4. I know how you feel. All this been so heartbreaking, that it's hard to move on ignoring it. Yet I think we have to stay strong and live our lives, because I'm sure what they want is to scare us, but we have to be strong.
I love that you paired navy look. Navy is such a beautiful color and great alternative to black. That shirt is lovely.

  5. Now that's a great business look! The blouse is just too pretty :)

Thank you for your comments! I read every single one :]
