Cozy | Sweater Dress and Over-The-Knee Boots

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a lovely Valentine's day!
To be honest, I had a completely different outfit in mind for today's post but this was the outfit I actually wore on Valentine's Day so here I am! It was a cold Valentine's day here in the District with temperatures below freezing so I was bundled up with these warm boots and a thick coat (seen here). I was dateless but warm! Haha
On that note, last Tuesday my apartment building had a Mardi Gras party that my roommates and I attended, mostly for the free food and wine they were serving. We met these two guys and we all got into the topic of DC sports teams. The Verizon Center is a big stadium that our building is rather close to and I said that I really should pop in to see a basketball game as I hadn't done so in a while and Washington Wizards tickets are usually quite affordable. The guys laughed and asked why we thought that was. I replied, "Well, because the Wizards kind of suck." This had the guys laughing again and said that they should get us really good seats sometime. They must have seen the confusion in our faces and one of the guys gave me his business card where I saw that he actually is an attorney for the Wizards! Facepalm!
He took the whole situation in stride and with humor while I stammered out an apology and did some serious backpedaling but wow was that embarrassing! He still very graciously offered us tickets for a game we said we would be interested in (which we will accept) but it's safe to say this may be one of the reasons I was dateless on Valentine's Day - I insult potential suitors with my big mouth.

  1. What happened to you is so funny - to be honest I could have done just the same thing! It's always in these moments that we embarass ourselves haha. Your dress looks perfect for Valentine's day, and I wish I could walk in heels like yours!

  2. Hahah oh no! Sounds like something that I would do. Talk too fast, apparently. I think that a lot of people (or the "right people) only find your honestly charming so I hope you score a little more than Wizard's tickets for that ;) hah!! Love the outfit, the boots especially!

    Much Love!
