September (2016) Bucket List

We are finally in my favorite month of all time - September! I love September because (1) it's when Autumn officially begins, (2) the weather starts to cool, and (3) My birthday is in September! Here are a few things I want to accomplish this month:

  1. Celebrate my birthday with loved ones: I'm really not a big birthday person and usually I tend to insist on being alone or going somewhere where no one will find me. I just don't like people making a fuss. This year, however, I realized how blessed I am to have people who want to celebrate with me so I think I'll plan something a bit low-key. Perhaps an outing to see a baseball game is in order?
  2. Celebrate the National Book Festival: I love books and I am so excited to attend the book festival here in DC with good company! Can't wait to go and meet some of the writers who will be there (including Salman Rushdie!!!)
  3. See a DC Fashion Week show: I've been saying for years how much I wanted to go and see a fashion show here in DC but this is going to be my year! There are a lot of free events during fashion week I could go to. I also want to take this time to promote going to local area fashion shows where you are because local designers need your support too!
  4. Do a wardrobe detox and figure out where the holes are: It's been a while since I've thoroughly cleaned out my closet and once I do, I'm going to find a way to fill in the gaps in my wardrobe. Perhaps I'll need a new "plain white shirt" or a "little black dress?"
What are some of the things on your bucket list (or to-do list) this month?
