Product Review: Skin Food Peach Sake Emulsion

It's been a while since I've posted a review of a product I used and I'm excited to share my thoughts on this moisturizer I've been using! I boarded the Korean skincare bandwagon early this year (I even did a post dedicated to my routine) and one of the products I got for my routine was this Skinfood Peach Sake Emulsion. Emulsion is another word for moisturizer, I've learned. Here are my thoughts:

I actually have mixed feelings about the packaging for this product. On one hand, I think that the decision to make the packaging of all their products to look like food packaging is quite clever. The Peach Sake Emulsion comes in a semi-clear glass bottle with a wood-covered cap and looks a bit like something out of my kitchen sauces. I personally think it's pretty but as with most products with non-squeezable tubes, I can see how it would be difficult to get that last bit of product. For now, it's been okay as long as I pour out my emulsion carefully. 4/5

The formula is quite decent, though it may not be for me. I love the way it smells and I love the way it feels on my skin initially. After a while, I can feel my face drying out a bit which is okay for my T-Zone but not for the rest of my face. I saw reviews online of this product saying it was great for oily skin. I happen to have very dry eczema-prone skin. It was fine to use in the summer but now with the air getting colder and drier, I don't think it would be a good idea for me to use. 3/5

For the sheer amount of product I received, I think $15 is a pretty fair price. 4/5

Overall, I think that if you have oily skin, this moisturizer would be perfect for you. If your skin is on the drier side like me, I would save your money and skip this one.

  1. Ooooh I'll have to try this one!

  2. The packaging really gets to me :D I was considering getting this but now I think I'm gonna skip it cause my skin is pretty dehydrated. Thanks for the honest review!

  3. This is a great review! I love peachy things and the packaging is really pretty. My skin tends to get super dry in the winter so I'd probably avoid this, but it sounds great for the summertime.

Thank you for your comments! I read every single one :]
