This post is actually a few weeks late as I saw School for Lies a few weeks ago at the Shakespeare Theatre but I never posted about it until now.
That day was actually a bit hectic - I used to live a 15 minute walking distance from work and the Shakespeare Theatre was only a few blocks away so I used to have time to go home, relax a bit, change, take a few photos for the blog, and get dinner before the play started. Now that I live about 25 minutes walking distance from work, getting pictures that day was out of the question. It was a hot and humid day on top of which I had been hangry because work got really busy and I didn't have time for lunch. I had to get home as quickly as I could, take a quick shower (as I was sweaty), change into nice clothes, only to barely have time to get to our dinner reservation. No time for photos unfortunately.
That said, the actual outfit I wore to the play has been featured a few times on this blog (here and here) so you guys didn't miss out on much. If I could do that day over, I would wear outfit I'm wearing here instead. It's breezy, fun, and perfect for summer!
The play itself was excellent - probably my favorite this entire season! It was our first comedy and it was based on Moliere's 1666 play, The Misanthrope, this play was written in rhyming verse and was ripe with political satire and human follies. I would say even those who aren't into staged plays would be laughing at this one.
Switching gears, I noticed I've been featuring a lot of floral dresses on the blog lately! I looked in my closet recently and realized half of my summer wardrobe consists of floral dresses haha! I can't help it, those are the prints I gravitate to when the weather gets warm! I really should branch out though, I've been loving fruit print (like J.Crew's lemon prints - so cute!)

  1. Love your dress so much! Sounds like you had a lovely time at the theatre, I'm so jealous! I've never seen a play, but it's on my bucket list :) x

  3. This is such a lovely dress, I love the pattern, colours and cut - the back especially! Molière is a great playwright, his plays are honestly hilarious most of the time but still have so many subtleties that you have to pay attention to and they make the whole text ten times richer. I'm not surprised you enjoyed the play!

  4. That is a beautiful dress! I really like the pink heels with it :)

It's a shame you had such a busy day and didn't get time to relax before the play but I'm glad you got to enjoy it and had a good time in the end!

I think florals are perfect for spring and summer - I'm surprised I don't have more floral dresses in my wardrobe!

Hope you are having a wonderful start to the weekend!
