Spring 2017 Favorites

It's been so hot lately so it feels like Summer is in full swing BUT the first official day of Summer is actually tomorrow! Weird, huh?
I've collected a roundup of some of my favorite things from the past season, sort of as a way to reflect all I've done.

  • J.Crew white Toothpick jeans: After winter, when the sun comes up, my white jeans come out! I had to really search to find my perfect white jeans (I wrote about my process and requirements in my post here). I wore the crap out of them this Spring and would do it again in a heartbeat!
  • ASOS scalloped skirt: I got this skirt during an ASOS sale and they're hands down my new favorite skirt in my wardrobe! I love the way it looks when paired with a classic warm-weather print like gingham, but it's paired well with my striped shirts and plain white tees too.
  • J.Crew Factory gingham shirt: I'm so loving gingham at the moment so I jumped at the chance to get this classic shirt when J.Crew Factory had a sale. It's great for both work and play!
  • Missha Sunscreen: I recently got this sunscreen because it's by a Korean brand and you know how much I love my K-beauty products! I really like this (I'll have a review up soon) because it's not greasy and has a pleasant smell that doesn't really linger at all.
  • Glossier Boy Brow: This product was my introduction into brow products and I don't think I can use anything else! It's seriously a HG product in my makeup stash! I wrote a more in-depth review of it here if you want more details. I seriously love it
  • Milk Makeup highlighter: I actually didn't need a new highlighter but I really love Milk Makeup's packaging (whoever is in charge of that over there is doing an excellent job) and I was drawn to the nice design. This highlighter is amazing so my money wasn't wasted, thankfully! It's such a subtle yet universally flattering color!
Books, Movies, and Shows
  • The Things We Wish Were True: This was a great beach read and I almost wish I saved it for my trip to Hawaii next month. I liked the pacing, the characters, and the secrets were just intriguing enough to keep me reading.
  • Big Little Lies: I read both the book and watched the excellent HBO show starring Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, and Shailene Woodley. After reading the book, I thought the characters were all perfectly cast and was most definitely a highlight of my Spring!
  • School for Lies: I saw this play at the Shakespeare Theatre last week (details to come soon) and I think this may have been my favorite all theater season! It's very funny and I highly recommend you catching the show if you're ever in DC, NY or if it's at a theater near you.
  • Moving house!: I moved to a new neighborhood recently and while there are a few adjustments I'm working out, I am loving it! My new building is fantastic and the neighborhood itself is full of things to do. Not to mention there's a grocery store literally across the street and a street car that can take me to one end of the street to the other. LOVE!
  • Trip to California: Brian and I took a trip up to NorCal over Memorial Day Weekend. I finally met his brother and Sister-in-law so that was exciting! I can't wait to see them again when I go to Hawaii for vacation in two weeks!
