Stuck in the Midi with You | Button Down Skirt and Espadrille Wedges

I love a good midi hemline and the older I get, the less inclined I am to pull out mt mini skirts and the more I want a midi skirt. Alas, at 5'3, most midi skirts have the tendency to make me look even shorter. When I first got this skirt from Sole Society, I was initially put off by how long it was because it looked more like a maxi than a chic midi. I thought about getting it hemmed but then decided against it and decided to wear it with heels. This longer tea-length midi look is actually starting to grow on me. It's more demure and sophisticated with a slightly bohemian feel.

We found these great colorful rowhouses in a quiet alley near my apartment. It kind of reminded me of Rainbow Row in Charleston, SC so of course, I had to stand near them and get these photos. I feel like all that's missing from this photoshoot is a cute bicycle with a basket full of flowers in it!

  1. I've been feeling midi skirts over mini skirts lately as well – I feel like I'm dressing too young for age when I wear most of my old high school clothes LOL. Your midi skirt is so beautiful!

  6. That is a beautiful skirt !I love the print and the tie at the waist! :) I'm with you on midi lengths making my petite self look shorter - I can't wear heels often so that rules them out for me. Yours is perfect with your wedges though, definitely a great way to wear it - and you saved on tailoring, yey!

Hope you are having a lovely start to the week :)
