Red-dy or Not | Chambray Shirt and Oxford Shoes

I know I keep mentioning the closet purge I did last month and you're probably sick of it but I'm going to mention it again today. This skirt is actually a dress that made the cut! I really love this dress because it's such a bold shade of red and the silhouette is very flattering. It's sort of a neoprene/scuba material that I really like the weight of. I decided create a casual look centered around it so I tied my trusty chambray shirt at the waist and covered the knot with a thick belt.

A big temptation I tried not to fall into after my closet purge was to not be so intimidated by the big gaps in my closet. I hope you guys understand what I mean by this - I see a bigger space in my closet and a part of me wants to go shopping and fill it up with more crap I'll only wear once or twice. I've mostly avoided this but it's certainly difficult. Posts like this where I challenge myself to get creative with styling my old clothes really help me remember that I purged my closet for a reason and the stuff I have now are things I kept for a reason.

  1. Dear Deborah,
I see you make definitely the best of the content of your closet! I never thought that this is in fact a dress and I really like how you have styled it.

  5. Love the shirt over your dress, and the belt is perfect to hide the knot! :)

I wish I could have more gaps in my wardrobe - it's all crammed into half a wardrobe when I used to have a room full of clothes and accessories. I've downsized a lot, but I'm still looking forward to a bigger house and wardrobe where I can see what I've got!

Hope you are having a great weekend :)
