Coffee Tasting

Coffee brewing, the Wydown, Rare Bird Coffee Roasters

Late last September, Brian and I went to a coffee-tasting event on H St., hosted by a local coffee shop here in DC called, The Wydown. As a coffee lover and a blogger, I grabbed my camera and trekked to The Wydown to sample of some of the best that DC coffee roasters have to offer.

I must have been living under a rock because I hadn't even heard of a lot of these local roasters! As a supporter of small local businesses (especially coffee shops), I decided to commit to learning more about the local roasters and shops here in DC and to go to them instead of hopping into my local Starbucks. I learned a lot about how coffee is created, how it's roasted, and the proper way to brew different coffees. It was so interesting and I got quite the caffeine boost from the tasting!
