Product Review: Physician's Formula Butter Highligher

Disclosure: I received complimentary press samples products or services for this post. As always, all opinions are my own. I only ever accept products I truly love or believe in.

One makeup product I've been incredibly picky about is highlighter. It's hard for me to find a highlighter that's in the perfect shade, has the correct amount of pigment (not to bright, not too subtle), and lasts for as long as I want it to.

I was selected to review this by product by Influenster and I gotta say, I couldn't write a bad review of this product if I tried hard to hate it! It's amazing and I'm going to break down the reasons why I would recommend this:

Packaging

I know I'm going to sound weird writing about the one part of the product I didn't actually like but I didn't love the packaging of this product. This highlighter is comes in a twist open container, unlike the flip open containers that their sister products, the Butter Blushes come in. I would much prefer a container with the lid attached because I like my beauty products to have a cohesive, attached look but this is a minor complaint.

Formula

Now onto the things I adored about this highlighter! True to its name, these butter highlighters feel like... well, butter! It feels so smooth to the touch - so much so that I lightly touched the highlighter once and you could see a distinct finger print on it. When you apply it to your face, it simply glides on. Oh, and it has a tropical coconut scent that I quite like! It reminds me of Hawaii. I received the highlighter in the shade, "Champagne" which has a gold shimmer. I have yellow undertones so that was perfect for me. I found that not only was this very long-lasting (it stayed on for an entire day), it gave me this sun-kissed look that helped me extend my Hawaii tan from the summer. That said, I don't think this particular shade would be great for the middle of winter, but there are other shades from this line that would definitely work.

Price

I received this highlighter for free but it retails at $10.95 and for how long this lasts and how much product comes in the container, I would say that this is a great price. Physician's Formula products tend to be a bit more high end in terms of drugstore makeup but it makes sense because it's hypoallergenic, paraben and gluten-free, clinically tested, and cruelty-free. I'd say it's totally worth it!
