The minute I got to the airport on my way to California, I did a huge facepalm when I realized I forgot to pack my DSLR! It was such a shame too because Northern California is such a gorgeous, photogenic place. Brian took me to Santa Cruz and I was stunned by the beautiful weather, the fun beach, and the happening boardwalk and and I really felt the absence of my camera there. Luckily, we have iPhones and they have portrait mode which helped but there is something about snapping photos on a nice DSLR that feels more professional. Still, I was happy we managed to capture a few outfit photos.

I love beach towns and Santa Cruz is no exception. There's something very quaint and cute about this town that kind of reminds me a little bit of the town in Bob's Burgers and the Boardwalk with all the rides a bit of Wonder Wharf. In fact, Brian and I took a ride on the roller coaster and that was a blast! The last time I had been on a roller coaster was when I was 13 years old. I knew I got old because as much fun as I had on the ride, I felt my heart drop every downward spin the roller coaster took (which I don't remember happening at all when I was 13). Brian tried to warn me that there was a camera on the third way down but I was too scared to prepare my face for it and all you see is my mouth wide, screaming and laughing at the same time. Brian thought it was hilarious though... at least one of us did haha!

  1. Nice photos, cool sunnies!

    Happy 2018 :)

  2. Oh your roller coaster pic is so fun! We have SO many from when we lived on the coat, whenever anyone visited we would take them to the themeparks, they are so fun to look at, no matter what the reactions in the photos.

I like your casual outfit too, the knit looks so comfortable! It's such a shame you forgot your camera, but thank goodness for camera phones so you could snap a few photos! :)

Happy new year! Hope that 2018 is going well for you! We've been enjoying the warmer weather with some pool time, as it has been a particularly humid summer so far the pool has been a good idea!
