February 2018 Bucket List

How is it already February? I feel like I blinked and then January flew by!

February has always been a busy month for me. My brother and my dad have their birthdays this month and my anniversary with Brian is on Valentine's Day (double whammy). Plus, my blog has a blogiversary! At work we have a huge convention in February every year so by the end of the month, I tend to be extremely exhausted and blog posts tend to be sparse.

Still, I am a big believer in creating goals, regardless of whether I manage to actually achieve them because we all need something to strive for, right? Here are mine:

  • Celebrate my 5-Year Blogiversary: February 6th is my blogiversary and I still can't believe I've been blogging consistently for five years now! That makes me a dinosaur in internet years.
  • Celebrate 2 years with Brian: Similar to my blogiversary, I can't believe I've been with this goofball for two years! We met at a mutual friend's birthday party on Valentine's Day and it's been heart eyes emoji faces ever since.
  • Celebrate Lunar New Year with friends: My friends and I are planning to go to an amazing (and authentic) Szechuan restaurant here in the city called Panda Gourmet (which sounds awfully inauthentic but trust me, it's the best Chinese restaurant ever!)
  • Do a clothes spending ban: I want to do a two-month ban on spending money on clothes starting this month. I look through my closet and I have a lot of clothes, which comes with the territory of being a style blogger. I want to make better posts about rewearing and restyling old clothes instead of going shopping every few days just so I can have a false feeling of having better content.
  • Meditate twice a week: I really tried to do this last month and failed horribly. It's not that I don't want to meditate. It's that I don't feel like I have a lot of time to just sit for 15 minutes and do nothing. I need to get better at that.
  • Visit a restaurant I've never been to: There are a lot of interesting restaurants in my neighborhood of DC but I never really go out to them. I just stick with the same five restaurants that I know. Two weeks ago, my friends and I tried an Ethiopian restaurant a block away from my apartment and I ended up loving it! I've had Ethiopian food before, just not there. It inspired me to try new places to eat.
  • See Hamlet at the Shakespeare Theater: We had to move our original time to see Hamlet from late January to early February because of scheduling issues. Hamlet is seriously one of my favorite plays by Shakespeare so I'm really excited to see this one!

What are some things on your bucket list this month?

  1. Sounds like you have a busy month ahead! I'm excited to see how your no-shop challenge goes though, you can do it! My 6 months without shopping last year that turned into 7 really helped me change up my shopping habits, I managed to make it through January without spending and without even trying to. I think being sick for most of it might have had something to do with it, but I'm taking it as a sign I changed my habits, haha!

Have a happy anniversary! :) Congrats on your upcoming blogaversary too! :)

Hope that you are having a lovely weekend :) We are having a relaxing one, much needed after a hectic week!

  8. Great list! Ditto for trying new restaurants. I feel like there's so many places around me to eat, but I typically go to the same places every single time. Maybe I'll venture out this month too.

  12. I am trying so hard to get into meditation, and I am struggling! I do a guided meditation for 5 minutes every night before bed, and I just dread it. If you find something that works for you, please share your secrets with me!
