The Comedy of Errors | Polka Dot Sweater and Wrap Skirt

We got season tickets to the Shakespeare Theater again this year and our first play of the season was The Comedy of Errors. If you are in the area, you should definitely check it out - it was HILARIOUS! We were enthralled every minute. The set was amazing, the acting was superb, and the modern adaptation was beautifully executed. I really love going to the theater and while the Shakespeare Theater in DC is a bit more casual than going to the Kennedy Center, I still like to dress up just a bit. We consider this our date nights so I like to put a little effort into it.

I love sweater weather but unfortunately, the temperatures here in DC haven’t allowed for them yet (we had an 80 degree week!) To satisfy my sweater cravings, I wore my shorter sleeved sweater for the night when it would be cooler. Plus, the theater tends to get cold so it was perfect. I am so glad that polka dots are coming back because that is my favorite pattern. This sweater is also a 3/4 sleeve so it gave me a bit of breathing room against the heat. My style is starting to gravitate towards minimalism and basic colors so black, gray, tan, and navy sweaters having their moment right now in my closet. The one I’m wearing is sold out, as I bought it years ago at Forever 21 (imagine that!) but I’m listing a few sweaters that I’m also really loving lately.

I really love a chic midi skirt, even better if it’s a wrap skirt. Wrap silhouettes have been my favorite all year and I can’t get enough! I bought two of these midi wrap skirts earlier in the year (one in a deep plum color) and they’ve been great to wear to work as well as for date night. It’s just a flattering design for all body types, I think. Plus the middle slit between the wrap can add a bit of sultriness to an otherwise tame look.
