This is a bit of an older post butt better late than never, right?
DC’s H Street Festival was on October 13th and it was a BLAST! If this is the first you’re hearing of it, the H Street Festival is essentially a neighborhood block party. All of the restaurants, vendors, and local officials set up booths all along the sides of the street. You can walk around and get something to eat, watch a musical performance, and even register to vote (that’s DC for ya!). It’s usually held in September but due to the hurricane that never actually came to DC, the organizers moved the date to October. I’m actually glad they did though. It’s usually too hot in September! This year, the weather was crisp and autumnal - perfect for the Festival!

gingham puffer vest
I never really understood the point of vests until recently. I get cold easily and wearing a sleeveless piece of clothing isn’t going to keep you warm… or so I thought. DC weather is also quite fickle and humid. It’s easy to get overheated and be cold at the same time - it’s the craziest thing! It’s hard to explain but if you live in the area, you’ll understand. I got this gingham puffer vest from J.Crew Factory last month and it’s finally cool enough to wear out! I love the pattern and the pockets! J.Crew Factory still has this puffer vest, other puffer vests, and non-puffer vests if you’re interested.

ruffle collar sweater
This sweater is one of my absolute favorites in my closet. I know it kind of looks like it’s layered but it’s not. It’s also more of a sweatshirt style sweater than anything but I really love the casualness of it. The soft and dainty ruffles add a bit of femininity to it that I just adore.
