Travel Outfit and Carry-On Essentials

Earlier this month, I went to South Korea for a week and a half. Then I went to California immediately afterwards for a week. I think it’s safe to say that I’ve become quite familiar with being on flights and what is necessary to bring with you on your carry-on bag. To Korea, I flew on KoreanAir and to California, I flew Southwest and both times I got a free bag check and two carry-ons. I’ve gotten pretty good at figuring out what I need on my persons while on a flight and I wanted to share that with you guys today:
My flight carry-on essentials
Madewell Transport Rucksack: I bought this cute leather backpack last summer so I could go touring my own city when Jen came to visit. They delivered it waaaay late and I ended up getting a deep discount on it when I called Madewell’s customer service. This backpack is super roomy but the leather isn’t too heavy so it made the perfect carry-on bag for traveling! It fit all my essentials and then some. Plus, it looks so chic! This backpack is nothing like my Jansport from my middle school days!
Kate Spade wallet: I got this wallet years ago but it’s held up quite nicely! I love the pebbled leather, the lovely gold hardware for the logo, and the deep neutral navy color.
Madewell Indio sunglasses: Another purchase from this summer (with my backpack), these sunglasses are the best! They look kind of retro, the mirrored lenses are chic, and the tortoiseshell frames are classic!
Heloideo mobile charger: I feel like my phone’s constantly running out of batteries so portable chargers are a must. My problem is… I forget to charge my portable chargers! Luckily, my Heloideo charger can charge my phone around 5 times before it needs to be recharged itself, giving me plenty of time to remember to plug it in! These are a definite essential on long flights for sure!
Macbook Pro: While my 14 hour flight to South Korea did not have wifi (I know - I was bored AF!), my 6 hour flight to California did have wifi so I took advantage of it and got some work done.
Amazon Kindle: What better time than a long flight to get some reading in? I ended up reading a LOT during my flights. What’s awesome about the Kindle is that you can store so many books in it so that if you happen to finish one book mid-flight, you’ll have back up books too!
Passport: An absolute necessity, especially for international travel.
Camelbak Edy water bottle: I feel like the airlines never give me enough water to sustain me during my flight. I bring an empty water bottle to the airport and fill it up at a water fountain on my way into the plane.
Mizon sheet mask: Planes are so drying for my skin! I like to keep a sheet mask handy so that about an hour before the plane is set to land, I’ll pop one on my face for a few minutes to re-hydrate my skin. I won’t let anyone who picks me up see me with flaky patches on my face!
Apple iPhone 7: My phone is with me at all times
