Comfort Vs. Style | Wool Trousers and Red Everlane Day Heels

I’ve been embracing a more minimalistic outlook when it comes to my wardrobe. If you look at my outfit posts from when I first started this blog, you may be surprised. The truth is, I’m just at a different phase in life now than when I started this blog. Back then I was a bit more willing to sacrifice comfort for style but now… not so much. I think I’d take comfort over looking like I’m dressed to the nines any day. But hey, who said I have to choose? I love minimal style - I think it’s chic now! Expect more posts with a more neutral color palette - maybe with a few pops of accent colors every once in a while

I bought these trousers from Aritzia during Black Friday. I really liked the tapered ankle length silhouette and the wool-blend material. Though I know Aritzia has made some strides in their sustainability, these trousers may be the last time I purchase anything from them directly. Looking closer, they haven’t really been as transparent about their process as they could be. I wouldn’t mind buying their pieces second=hand though but for now I think I’m going to slow down on them and maybe fast fashion in general. Still, I’m glad to have a pair of wool trousers for the winter. It’s been getting so cold here in DC lately. We got a light dusting of snow last month and we got a bit more last night in some places in the DC area. These trousers have kept me warm and toasty! I have worn these pants with boots as well and they’re a match made in heaven!

Everlane is a brand I’m currently obsessed with. Their radical transparency when it comes to their ethical manufacturing process has really won me over! I got a pair of their Day heels while shopping for Brian’s Christmas gift - I couldn’t resist getting a pair of bright red heels from them for a pop of color to break up my neutral outfits. The ones I’m wearing here are suede but they also have a leather version in the same color if that’s more your speed. I really love how the shoes add a punch to this monotonous look. It’s also a great color for the holiday season so I’m happy to have these in my closet!
