 My Morning Routine

I'm a creature of habit and routine. I like my morning rituals and I tend to be pretty disciplined when it comes to it. I talked a little bit about my morning routine in my post on my workout routine (which if you haven't read yet, you totally should!), but I wanted to go a bit more in depth about the things I do when I wake up.

I wake up at 5:30:

Whether or not I have a workout at that time or not, I always wake up at 5:30 - I consider this integral to my morning routine. On Monday, Thursday, and Fridays, I immediately head to the gym in my apartment building and on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I get dressed and head to yoga that starts at 6:15. On that note...

I work out:

I love love LOVE starting my day off with a good workout. In fact, when I am feeling lazy and skip my workouts, I start to feel really off so I try not to skip my gym or yoga days. I always work out before I have my breakfast or even a cup of coffee so I can "reward" myself with that afterwards.

Shower and Beauty:

I have a whole beauty routine in the morning! I jump into the shower after I get back from my workout and I take this time to exfoliate my face. I recently found out I'm not supposed to be doing that, but for the sake of honesty, I admit I've been doing this haha. I use my Fresh Umbrian Clay Purifying Face Exfoliant. When I get out, I like to mix a bit of my First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream with a few drops of my ElishaCoy Moist Up Hyalurone  Ampoule Serum (I wrote a review on this if you want to read about that). Finally, I top up with my Missha All Around Safe Block in SPF 50 (another product I did a review on).

Makeup and Outfit:

Most days, I go for a natural look with minimal makeup. I use a bit of my Etude House BB Cream (my review can be found here). For the eyes, I use two cream shadows by Maybelline - I use a shade called "Inked in Pink" (a shimmery light pink shadow) for the center of my eye lids for a subtle brightening effect, and "Creamy Beige" (a matte beige) for the outer V to balance out the shimmer and add neutrality. For blush, I use Milk Makeup Lip + Cheek in the shade "Coral" and if I'm up for it, I'll use a bit of my Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer for subtle contour.

Breakfast:

This is a relatively new addition to my morning routine but I'm really trying to start getting better at not skipping breakfast. These days I've been eating plain greek yogurt with a small amount of honey and gluten-free agave granola and maybe some fruit. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day after all!
