Product Review: Marc Jacobs Shameless Foundation

 Marc Jacobs Shameless Foundation

Foundation is something I just don't wear. Frankly, I'm more of a BB Cream or tinted moisturizer kind of girl because I just don't like the coverage of a foundation. When I was sent Marc Jacobs's Shameless Youthful-Look 24H Foundation, I didn't have high expectations.

I have used this every day since I received it. And not just for the review - because it does something amazing to my skin! Here are some details:

Packaging

I actually really like the sleek round look of this foundations. When you open it, it's a squeezable tube that allows you to get out the exact amount of foundation that you need. Very practical and pretty. 5/5

Formula

Now onto the important stuff - how well does it work? For the record, I received the shade Medium Y320 and while it wasn't an exact match it was quite close! The foundation contains SPF 25 (which is always a bonus to me). When it's on, it feels weightless and isn't drying or oily - perfect for my dry skin and negates most of the common complaints I have about most foundations. The only few drawbacks I've experienced are these: It doesn't blend into my skin as easily with my foundation brush (but this is honestly minor because if I go over the streaky parts with my beauty blender, the streaks blend in), and while it is a medium coverage foundation, it's very easily buildable to become full coverage if you're not careful. It's not necessarily a bad thing (especially if you want a full coverage) but I like a more lighter coverage so I was taken aback by it. This is also not a big deal because now I just use a small amount and distribute it equally on my face. Still, it's something to keep in mind. 4/5

Price

I checked on Sephora and you can get this for $46. As far as high end foundations go it's not a bad price at all. All things considered, products that go directly on your face should be better quality and that usually means it's worth the splurge. 3/5
