Birthday Girl | Culotte Jumpsuit and Burgundy Bag
Today is my birthday. I can’t believe I made it another year, actually, and I’m another step closer to 30. I am celebrating by doing…nothing! I actually only let a handful of people know that it even was my birthday. I had a get-together with a few good friends last weekend and while I didn’t tell anyone my birthday was coming up until the end of the night, I considered it a party of sorts in my head. I just don’t like a big fuss and I really hate being the center of attention (yes, I see the irony as I’m a fashion blogger). Brian took me out last night to a new sushi place in town, just the two of us. That’s more my speed. Jen, of course, sent me a gift (a fun Tina Belcher POP Funko doll!) and my other friend Leisha sent me a cute set of necklaces. My parents got me a set of tickets to the Korean Air lounge for when I go to Korea (YES). I bought myself a pretty ring from Etsy that was on sale and that’s about all I really need.
I actually bought this jumpsuit for myself last year on my birthday, so we’ve come full circle! I really love this jumpsuit but I never know how to wear it, nor does the weather allow for this jumpsuit to be worn too often around here. While the culottes are quite breezy, it’s made of a polyester material that isn’t the best when it comes to breathability so I get a bit hot in it when it’s muggy. This weekend was probably one of a handful of days we get a year in DC where this jumpsuit was perfect. Warm, a tiny bit humid (not too much though), with lower temperatures. Everything about that description sounded oxymoronic, I know, but that’s DC weather for you! I’m so glad I had this jumpsuit handy because it’s seriously one of my favorites. I love the way it looks when the wind is blowing through it. I love the soft blush color. I like that I can wear a crop tee over it to create a look of separates. I love that it’s perfect for brunching in or, in my case, secretly celebrating my birthday in!

You would think I had no other pair of shoes if you saw how often I wore these block heeled sandals this summer. I can’t help it, they’re so comfortable! Brian and I like to venture out to different places in DC for our photoshoots and when I’m in heels I can usually only walk so far. Not a problem with these babies! I feel like every blogger has a pair of these Steve Madden Irenees but I can tell you without a doubt that there’s a good reason. They’re just the best. They’re chic, they’re versatile, and (like I’ve already said), comfy!
