Wine Down | Turtleneck Sweater and Floral Midi Skirt

My work had a holiday party last week (kind of late, I know) and I had a fun time. We had it at a local winery near the waterfront and they sent us all home with two bottles of wine each. I’m not complaining! It was a great time and I had fun with my co-workers. They gave us a casual dress code but knowing our CEO would be there, (and knowing my propensity for wanting to dress up) I opted not to go too casual but hit that sweet spot under “over the top.” I ended up with this ensemble.

Something about turtlenecks have really grown on me. I have kind of a short neck and I used to find turtlenecks to be uncomfortable. Now, I love that I don’t have to wear a scarf on a cold and windy day when I’m wearing them. I like that this particular one is a thinner knit making it not so bulky and heavy. The gray color is a pretty shade and it’s one that I’ve really been gravitating to as of late. In fact, I even changed my bio on Instagram recently to note that I wear “mostly neutrals” (seriously, look at my blog from when I first started to now. There’s been a huge color palette shift!).
Floral Midi Skirt
In my closet you will find an abundance of floral prints and midi skirts. Sometimes you’ll even encounter floral midi skirts! This is one such floral midi and I’ve been in love with it since I first got it three years ago. It’s another one of those Forever 21 pieces that has surprised me with its longevity. I love the floral pattern, the neutral color palette, and gorgeous mesh panel. I have obviously stopped shopping at Forever 21 since 2016 and shopping altogether since the beginning of this year but digging out pieces like this skirt has really reminded me why it made the cut whenever I KonMari’d my closet.
