Call Me, Richard Curtis | Wool Turtleneck and High Waisted Jeans

I don’t know what it is about this particular combination that reminds me of the movie Love Actually. They wore a LOT of turtlenecks in that film and high waist jeans always gives me throwback vibes so perhaps that’s why. It’s gotten quite cold here in DC (we got a snow day yesterday, in fact!) so staying warm in chunky turtlenecks has been my go to.

I got this turtleneck sweater at the end of last year from Everlane when they had their ‘Choose What You Pay’ event. In case you’re new to Everlane, sometimes they make too much of one product so instead of having a proper sale, they give you three price options to pick from: The regular price, a price that’s slightly lower, and a price that’s lower than that. I’m sure most pick the lowest price but if you do decide to pay full price, the difference goes towards investment and growth for the company. Think of it as a donation for a great ethical brand. In any case, I am super happy with my purchase. Despite the wool material, this sweater is not scratchy at all. It’s incredibly warm and the turtleneck is perfect against the cold winter wind - no scarf necessary!

High Waisted jeans
As a petite girl, high waisted jeans are my jam. I think at this point, 60% of my jeans are high waisted. I love this particular pair from Everlane (side note - almost everything I’m wearing in this post is from Everlane. I’m obsessed!) because not only is it ethically made, the fit is fantastic! The cut I’m wearing is their high rise skinnies in the ankle length which is perfect for me at my 5’3” height. I like the light wash because I love the way it looks with dark colors in the winter, even though it’s usually worn as a warm-weather denim, making this an incredibly versatile pair of jeans.
