Product Review: BareMinerals Blemish Rescue Skin-Clearing Spot Concealer
Disclosure: I received complimentary press samples products or services for this post. As always, all opinions are my own. I only ever accept products I truly love or believe in.
I’ll admit, the makeup looks I do for my ootd photos are not the makeup looks I do on a regular non-shooting day. I don’t use Photoshop but I like making my skin look like it’s having the best day ever. Therefore, a good skin base is essential for me. Unfortunately, I get redness around my nose and dark circles around my eyes like most people. Fortunately, there’s this magical makeup product called concealer that helps cover it all up!
Influenster sent me this bareMinerals concealer to try out from their Blemish Rescue line. It was great timing as my old Benefit hydrating concealer was running low.
What it claims to do
“Calm, clear, and cover blemishes and imperfections with this creamy, ultra blendable, full-coverage concealer. This crease-proof, waterproof, and sweat-resistant concealer lasts all day. It’s specifically formulated to be used as part of a skin-clearing makeup routine with bareMinerals BlemishRescue™ Anti-Redness Mattifying Primer and bareMinerals BlemishRescue Loose Powder Foundation (each sold separately). It’s designed with a built-in sharpener for a fresh and precise application every time.”
It’s a long list but here are a few key ingredients you should know about:
Salicylic Acid: Helps reduce the appearance of blemishes.
Mushroom Stem and Licorice Root Extract: Provides soothing properties and helps fade the appearance of post-acne scars.
Phytosphingosine: Supports skin’s defenses against bacteria.
Blemish Busting Mineral Blend: Mattifies skin and purifies the look of pores.

The concealer comes in almost a pen-like form. The concealer stick is solid and is extremely easy to apply. I really love straight-forward packaging like this. No fuss, no muss! 5/5
I have a bit of a disclaimer before I jump into my review of this concealer. They sent me a color that was at least two shades lighter than my actual skin color. It still blended out and it helped that my summer tan finally faded making it a bit closer to the shade of concealer I was sent, but it was still too light. That said, the formula actually worked quite well! Once I blended it onto my skin as much as I could, it did a great job of covering all the spots I needed it to conceal on my face and when I applied foundation over it, it blended flawlessly. I’m not very acne prone so I couldn’t really use this to conceal any blemishes but when I did some research, a lot of people were singing praises for the skin-healing formulation of this bareMinerals concealer. 5/5

This concealer is $22 and considering the formula and how well it works, I’d say it’s worth it if you’re acne prone. As I’m not, I’m not sure if I’d immediately repurchase it because I’ve used less expensive concealers that have done a great job for what I need but I frankly need far less than what this concealer gives me. If you need more from your concealer then I think $22 is a great price to pay for everything this little concealer does! 4/5
