The few days after New Years day is a period where most people are just on top of it. I think we’re so motivated to be better, get all of those resolutions checked off that we become so productive. I’m guilty of it. I’ve been really productive and motivated to just be better lately. I have a BIG goal that I want to accomplish by the end of this year (details to come tomorrow) and it’s going to require a lot of discipline and control. I figure if I’m disciplined in all aspects of my life, I’ll be disciplined with this particular goal as well!

I was given a coupon code from Everlane for 20% off late last year and I used it on these awesome pants. As soon as it arrived, I put it on and my life changed. I have really been liking mixing more fitted silhouettes with looser pieces and this is the perfect looser piece! It’s SUPER comfortable, obviously, and the fabric feels very luxurious. It looks well-tailored and even on my more petite frame, it’s not too long. It’s a great pair of pants to wear to both work and to wear for running errands on a weekend (guilty)! I had mixed feelings about the elastic waist at first because I thought it’d look unprofessional at work and thus limited the scope of these pants. Once I paired them with a nice blouse, my mind was changed! I seriously love these pants and I’m pretty tempted to buy more in different colors!

I’m pretty convinced that a nice chambray shirt goes with any and everything. I’ve also learned to never underestimate the power of a well-fitting piece of clothing. I used to always buy my chambray shirts from the regular section until I decided to take a chance on this J.Crew shirt in the petite size. I always figured that I could get away with wearing a top from the regular section because it’s my legs that are petite. That all changed when I started wearing this shirt. Although I’m not shopping at J.Crew for the foreseeable future, I am glad I got this great-fitting shirt from them. If you’re looking for a more slow-fashion/ethical brand to get your chambray shirt, I’m listing a few options for you guys here:
