If you aren’t sick and tired of seeing me in the same pieces, I would like to take this moment to note that my style has most definitely evolved since the early days of my blog. It makes sense, really. My life six years ago when I started this blog is not where my life is now so my style would most definitely change with it. While I favored bold, bright colors, patterns, and silhouettes, I now gravitate towards mostly neutrals with clean lines and simple silhouettes.
I’ve featured this dress before last Fall but I’ve worn this dress all winter too, with a pair of tights. Looking back, I wish I wore a lighter or thinner pair of tights as you can’t see where the dress ends and where my boots begin due to my dark, thick tights. Still, I really love the wrap look of this dress and the ruching is very flattering while the black color is slimming. You really can’t go wrong with this dress at all!
I haven’t gotten sick of this coat yet and hopefully you haven’t either! It’s been such a great elevated neutral piece. I say neutral because both the colors in the coat and the mix of plaid and houndstooth print are all neutrals. I’ve loved wearing this coat with other neutrals this winter or with brighter colors, using this coat to tone it down. It’s not the thickest coat but it’s made of wool so it’s quite warm. Plus, the double breasted silhouette is super flattering, despite its oversized frame.
