Brunch Bunch | Rose Culottes and Suede Moto Jacket

If there’s one thing that’s very DC, it’s going out to brunch on the weekends. Bonus points if there’s a bottomless aspect to it (bottomless mimosas and sometimes, it’s bottomless brunch plates!). I recently went to brunch with some girlfriends and I remembered why I used to love going to bottomless brunches… until you get home at three in the afternoon and the rest of your day is shot because you’re too tired from all the food you ate and the mimosas you drank. Oh well, you win some, you lose some. I wore this look out because we were having an unseasonably warm day. I usually can’t bare my legs until late April in these parts but we had a 60 degree day so I took advantage with this getup.

I really love these culottes but since I purchased it on Poshmark late last year, I never really had a chance to wear them because it was too cold. Like I said I took advantage of the unusually warm weather we had (thanks, climate change!) I just really love the soft rose-mauve color and the billowy fabric that slinks around my legs. I got a lot of compliments, even from strangers, on my way to brunch.

I really love this jacket but much like my culottes, I don’t really get too many opportunities to wear it. One thing I do love about being on my shopping ban is rediscovering old favorites like this suede moto jacket! When I pulled it out of my closet, I remember how much I loved it when I first got it and how long I hunted for this particular color and waited patiently to get the right price for it. Sometimes, I think that I used to love the thrill of the “hunt” for good clothes, more than I really liked having a large wardrobe. Right now, I managed to reduce the amount of clothes I have and am finding every day that I’m okay with living with less and re-wearing old favorites like this jacket. If I loved this jacket enough to go through all that just to get it, I really should be wearing it a lot more than I am currently.
