Classic Trench Coat and Lavender Hunter Boots

Top: Forever 21 (old, similar here) || Coat: Zara (old, similar here) || Bottoms: Everlane || Accessories: Kate Spade necklace, Madewell Small Transport tote, Hunter umbrella || Shoes: Hunter

We had such a rainy week last week, I took to bringing my Hunter boots out of my closet and my trench coat out of retirement. When I first started this blog I had an obsession with trench coats so I don’t know why I stopped wearing them. Once I pulled it out of my closet, I started to rediscover other pieces that I just hadn’t worn in so long. I mentioned this in my last outfit post but one thing I’m loving about my shopping ban (despite some of my difficulties), is that I’m rediscovering old pieces I just stopped wearing because I kept buying new things. I really love this way of working through my wardrobe and I recommend you guys go through your closets to find that one piece you loved but just stopped wearing and give it new life!

Trench Coat

I bought this trench at Zara about three years ago because I really loved the classic silhouette. I know there are new modern iterations of the trench but I’ll forever be drawn to the classic look - sleek, belted, no drapings, double-breasted, waterproof, with a storm flap or two. It’s a classic for a reason and will definitely stand the test of time. Although I now no longer shop at Zara (or… anywhere to be fair), if you’re in the market for a trench, I would recommend this one from Everlane. It is a bit drapier than the sleek one I’m wearing here but I do love the slight oversized silhouette of it - almost a “borrowed from the boys” vibe that I appreciate.

Hunter boots

The thing I’ve learned about Hunter boots is that they are seasonless. I can literally wear them in the summer, spring, autumn, and winter. What I love about mine are that they’re a bit lighter than the classic Hunter Boots (mine are the packable Tour boots) and the gorgeous lavender pink color really adds a bright pop to my wardrobe. I’ve definitely been leaning more towards neutral colors but these Hunters remind me that it’s fun to play with colors once in a while too!
