Today is quite special. Today marks my sixth blog anniversary!
Sometimes, I still can’t believe my dedication to this blog. I honestly started this blog on a whim one day and here I am still typing away six years later. Part of me is surprised that I’ve stuck with this blog when I have had a history of starting blogs and never writing in them for months or years. An even bigger prat of me is surprised I have people who actually read, comment, and even like the content I create and put out there. Today, I want to stop and talk about some of the big highs and some lows I’ve had in my life that I’ve either documented on my blog or happened to me because of my blog.

Highs and lows in the past six years
I started Coffee, Prose, and Pretty Clothes in February of 2013 after I finished up my first job on a political campaign
I started a new job at a trade association in the health care industry in 2013
I quit said job and documented the process of embarking on a new job (the same place I work today) in 2015
In February of 2016, I met Brian who later became my boyfriend… and my blog photographer!
In November of 2016, I bought my first DSLR (a Canon EOS Reble T5) and a nifty fifty lens after using just a mirrorless interchangeable lens camera from the beginning of the blog. It was my first real investment for my blog
In 2017, I got invited to my very first NYFW show!
In the summer of 2017, I went to Hawaii for the first time with Brian and our friends for his birthday!
In November of 2018, Brian and I went to South Korea to meet my extended family
Thank you so much for sticking with me all this time!

And now, about the outfit…
I got this blazer from the Peneloppe Vintage Etsy shop. This is actually is a men’s jacket but I really love the oversized look of it (and those shoulder pads are no joke!). Between this blazer and the high-waisted mom jeans I also got from Peneloppe Vintage, I’m starting look like I walked straight out of a late 80s-early 90’s movie - all that’s missing is the big poofy hair! I paired it with a crop top from Aritzia and my high-waisted Everlane skinny jeans (just to balance out the oversized silhouette of the blazer). I finished off the look with these awesome Nisolo flats - the same ones I was feeling guilty about buying from this post.
