Every year for my birthday, Brian gets me season tickets to see plays at the Shakespeare Theater here in DC. Despite “Shakespeare” being in the name of the theater, they actually only do three Shakespeare plays every season (one season consists of six plays or musicals). We’ve seen Richard III, Comedy of Errors so far. As much as I love Shakespeare though, I really have enjoyed the theater’s productions of non-Shakespeare plays as well! We saw Vanity Fair last Friday and it may have been my favorite show this season. I read the book that the play was adapted from by William Makepeace Thackeray when I was 15 years old. I think having had that background knowledge of what the story was about helped me enjoy the play a lot more. If you haven’t read the book, I highly recommend it! If you don’t have time to read it or listen to the audiobook, I suggest watching the movie starring Reese Witherspoon (so good!) Better yet, if you’re in DC, you should check out the play! The set is amazing and the actors are fantastic!
Paper bag waist pants
I really love paper bag waists because I find them to be quite flattering! I used to exclusively wear this style with a more fitted top but I experimented with this more loose sweater and I ended up really loving the way it looks! I have been really loving looser pants in simple colors lately because I’m all about comfort. The roomy legs are perfect for not only work, but after-work occasions too! I believe these pants are actually supposed to be cropped but as I’m on the shorter side (I’m 5’3”), they look more like regular pants on me. Just something to note if you’re planning on recreating this look.

I think this may be the last time I wear this sweater on this blog for a while! The weather has become so nice lately (thank goodness for Spring!). It was actually a bit too warm out to be wearing this sweater the day I did but I find that I get really cold in the theater so I like to wear thicker layers. I’m really going to miss this sweater… until next winter! I swear, this was probably the best investment I’ve made! I got this sweater at one of Everlane’s cashmere events! Not only am I supporting a brand that I absolutely love, I got it at such a great deal! If you’re in the market for a nice sweater for the future (or you’re on the opposite hemisphere and you’re currently going into winter), I highly recommend you check out Everlane!
