Empties Vol. 8

I must be one of the slower product users in the world because I don’t know how some creators can churn out “empties” posts every month! The last empties post I did was back in December 2018. It took me four months to use up barely enough stuff to fill a post for…and even now I feel like it’s not nearly as many products as some bloggers feature in their empties posts! I honestly couldn’t wait to post this because now I can finally throw away the empty bottles of products that I had been collecting just for this post (that’s right - bloggers save garbage for these posts! You can tweet that!).

After using up my Origins’ Modern Friction Dermabrasion, I thought I’d try something different. I heard great things about Fresh products in general and I decided to try it out. I actually really liked it, though it wasn’t as gentle as the Origins exfoliator. I wrote a whole review on it (check it out here) and while I liked it, I definitely got bored of it after a while. The clay texture was getting old.
REPURCHASE?: No, I kind of want a break from this. I actually got the Origins GinZing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser recently. It’s fun to change it up!
I really loved this cleanser! I had been using (and repurchasing) it for the last two years, since I first started on the double face cleansing train! It’s been great on my skin and really does an amazing job at getting all of my makeup off. I wrote a review on this too (read it here) and while I truly love it still, it’s the first oil cleanser I’ve ever used and I got a few (two) more oil cleansers from South Korea that I’d like to try out. I’m ready to compare it to other oil cleansers!
REPURCHASE?: Eventually… I want to get through the other ones I got in Korea first.
Another awesome product - My Origins Night-a-Mins! I did a review on this as well (read it here) but long story short, I love how rich and thick this cream is and it was a skin life saver this past winter! A LOT of people rave about this cream and for a good reason - it works so well! After about two years of using this cream, I did want to try something new and I got the Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Dream Night Cream (reviewed here) but I think I’ll still go back to the Night-a-Mins at some point
REPURCHASE?: Yes, in the winter, but not right now.

This is an oldie but a goodie. I’ve been using the Urban Decay Primer Potion since I first discovered it as a college kid. I’ve tried other eye primers throughout the years but I always come back to the Primer Potion.
REPURCHASE?: Yes - I just ordered a new one that’s on the way.
EVA NYC Dry Shampoo and Dry Conditioner
The Eva NYC Freshen Up Dry Shampoo and Forget Me Knot Dry Conditioner was actually sent to me by Influenster early last year for review (which you can read here). I liked them and they both worked quite well but the dry shampoo comes out as a white powder which I’ve always found annoying about dry shampoos. As someone with black hair, I feel like no matter how hard I rub product into my hair, I can still see white streaks where I applied dry shampoo. I’ve been recommended the Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo for Brunettes and I’ve been having better luck with that one.
REPURCHASE?: No. As much as I like the price of it, I don’t like looking like Cruella De Vil. I’ve already bought the Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo for brunettes and I see that being my dry shampoo of choice for the near future. It’s been a fun run!
This was a sample I got from Sephora and to be honest, I was quite disappointed. I really enjoyed Benefit’s Porefessional and NYX’s Pore Filler Primer. I knew on some level that the Too Faced primer would be more of a lotion texture but it was just so oily on my face and I just felt like my face looked greasy. It was so disappointing because I was prepared to like it due to the fact that my skin is so dry.
REPURCHASE: No. Sorry, Too Faced, this one just isn’t for me.

I think I need to try new products with no expectations going in because that’s when I tend to like them! This cleanser blew my mind, it was so good! It not only does a great job of getting all the makeup and gunk off of my skin, it really moisturizes my skin as well without leaving an oily layer on my face.
REPURCHASE?: Yes… eventually though. I have two foaming cleansers I need to use up before I buy this one.
This is actually my second tube of this lash glue and for a good reason - it’s a great glue that has a strong hold on my falsies (I wear fake lashes for photoshoots, though not really at all in my normal life - just an FYI) and is latex free so it’s a lot more gentle on the eyes.
REPURCHASE?: Yes - I already am on my third tube!
