I’ve definitely toned it down a lot when it comes to wearing color, especially considering the early days of my blog were basically a rainbow explosion. I think back then I was just starting to experiment with fashion and figure out my style. Nowadays? Well, maybe it’s because I’m approaching fashion in a slow and measured way (remember I’m on a one year shopping ban?) but I’m definitely embracing a more neutral palette with pops from the red color family (think blush pink). In fact, I think I can boil down my favorite color combinations down to three and I’m excited to share them with you for inspiration!

Combination 1: Blush and Black
I think this combination is so unexpected but works brilliantly. I think when people think “Blush Pink,” they think of springtime and warm weather. When paired with a dark and deep neutral like black, it really creates an interesting contrast. Vice versa as well - I think that a blush pink really brightens up a dark black outfit. It’s the perfect combo for transition seasons like Autumn and Spring.
Combination 2: Navy and Camel
This combination is a classic, of course, which is why I’ve added it to my list. I own a LOT of navy pieces and it always just seems so natural to pair it with camel shades. Despite navy blue being a neutral color, I find it hard to find colors to pair it with. I mean, it doesn’t go with black (which is a color I wear a LOT) and it looks a bit drab with certain shades of gray. I’ve found that navy pairs great with white and camel. I can’t be trusted to wear white without spilling something on it so I wear it with camel a lot (including today in this post!)
Combination 3: Black, Gray, and White
This is such a tried-and-true outfit combination that I almost didn’t write it but I’d be lying if I said this isn’t the combination I’m seen in most of the time. I can’t help it - it’s a classic and it’s perfect for any season! I love that this combination looks great both on its own and with a pop of color - any color! I’m partial to red because the contrast is quite stark but I’ve seen this combo paired with a lot of different colors and it just seems to work!
