Autumnal | Rose Culottes and Ruffled Sweater

This is actually one of my favorite outfits I’ve worn all Fall - slightly oversized sweater with a warm and rosy pair of culottes! I wore this look to a brunch date with Brian and of course we snapped a few pics on the way. With the temperatures cooling down and a beautiful Autumn crispness in the air, I wanted to my look to reflect my love for the season with warm tones and soft textures.

I got this sweater on a whim last winter and it’s quickly become one of my most worn pieces in the cooler temps. I love the oversized sleeves and the ruffle trim details. It’s super warm and bigger size makes it comfy. It’s also slightly cropped making this an excellent sweater to pair with high-waist pieces (like my Madewell jeans). I also really love the ruffle details, especially around the neckline. I think it adds a feminine and delicateness to the piece.

I love the color. I’m a big fan of rosy-blush tones in general but I really like the dusty shade these culottes come in. It’s very appropriate for Fall and I love them! Culottes are a trend that’s really grown on me lately but as someone who’s petite (I’m 5'3"), it’s hard to find a pair that hit me at the right length and aren’t too flowy but not too fitted in the legs. This pair by Aritzia really fits the bill. I found these on Poshmark (a website I highly recommend - and no, this post is not sponsored by them. I just really love that site for shopping). The only change I would make to these culottes though are to add pockets. They have fake pockets which are something I hate even more than sewn shut pockets. At least sewn shut pockets are functional once you cut them open. Fake pockets have no point and they annoy me to no end.
