Gaga for Gingham | Button Down Cami and White Shorts
The pieces I tend to gravitate toward when it comes to shopping are classics with a twist. It can be seen in almost all the outfits I wear, including the outfit for today. For example, gingham is a classic, as are white shorts in the summer. However, the ruffle straps of this cami is a cute and trendy twist on an otherwise classic piece.

I gasped when I saw this top at Madewell. I gotta say, Madewell is killing it lately! I have really been loving everything they've been coming out with! The ruffle straps of this cami and the button front are both classic and on-trend. As far as I'm concerned, the button front stays closed (no accidental flashing happening here) and the fabric has a very nice weight to it. The only issue I have with it is that the straps are not adjustable. Being rather petite (I'm 5'3") with smaller shoulders, the straps fell a few times and it was kind of annoying at first. I that said, I realized I could twist the straps around in the back to shorten it and the problem was solved! Just a word of caution in case you guys are also petite with narrow shoulders. Beware non-adjustable straps!
A summer staple in my life every year are white shorts. I actually got this a few years ago from Forever 21 and they've surprisingly help up quite well. Funnily enough, I actually found these shorts in the kids' section - I got the biggest kids size and they're actually kind of perfect! They're a bit loose in the thigh area which is what I liked about them in the first place. Plus, the denim itself is a good weight - not too heavy, not too light. Since I bought these shorts years ago, I have a couple shorts I'm recommending instead that are similar looking at a similar price point as well.

Small Transport crossbody
Ahh, where would I be without this gorgeous, perfect crossbody? This Madewell Transport Crossbody bag was originally a birthday gift to myself last year. I use it almost every day! It holds my wallet, keys, phone, sunglasses, and phone charger. I have also been known to fit my Amazon Kindle in there with no problem! I like the burgundy color because it adds a pop of color without taking anything away from any of my looks - a neutral pop of color, if you will. I just really like all the Transport bags from Madewell in general. I recently also got their leather rucksack (should be shipping to me soon) and their big Transport totes are a universal favorite.
