My Favorite Podcasts
On any given moment, you’ll find me with a pair of headphones in my ears. Whether I’m listening to music or an audiobook, I’m always looking for something new to listen to to keep me entertained.
I’ve been finding out about some new and awesome podcasts lately. I find them a lot more interesting to listen to when I’m exercising (more than music surprisingly), plus I learn new information. I know people are always recommending podcasts so I decided to throw my hat in the ring and tell you guys about the ones I’ve been listening to and loving.

This podcast was so addictive! It’s only 11 episodes (so far) with 4 bonus episodes but it’s a very interesting deep dive into the world of multilevel marketing companies. It’s totally worth listening to and they’ve hinted that the second season was going to be about cults which are another area of fascination for me (I have a morbid curiosity about things like this).
I’m currently rereading books by Tamora Pierce, an awesome author from my childhood. She wrote fictional books with characters in a universe called Tortall. She writes about strong female characters that are heroic in different ways and her books really left a deep impression on me when I was a preteen. Thankfully, I’m not the only one taking a trip down memory lane because Rebecca and Joan, the hosts of Tortallan Knights are doing the same thing. Their analysis of each book is so awesome to listen to and their feminist leanings have me nodding along yes! each time!
By the Book
Another book podcast, By the Book hosts read a self-help book and live out the rules of the book for one week and report back on their findings. They’ve done books like The Life Changing Magic of Tidying, The Little Book of Hygge, and even Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus. It’s really interesting because it almost feels like you’re listening to a reality show in some ways.

Anna Faris is Unqualified
I love listening to and giving relationship advice. I’m in a very stable relationship but I still love hearing advice from people about situations I’ve never even been in (am I weird?) Anna Faris’s podcast does exactly that - she has a guests come in for an interview, and they take caller questions and give their (unqualified) advice on how to deal with a relationship situation. The guests are all awesome and she definitely encourages insightful and thoughtful advice (check out the Bo Burnham episode - it was my favorite!)
Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me
I’ve been listening to NPR’s Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me forever! It always makes me laugh and because I live in DC and work in advocacy, being up to date on the news is really important so I feel awesome when I get their news questions right. I’m really hoping that if I’m ever in Chicago I’ll be able to stop by their live recordings to be an audience member someday!
Only Looking Up
I love the Dearly Bethany Youtube channel and was thrilled to find she started a fashion podcast! I love her style - sustainable brands with her own unique spin.
