All Fall Down | Culotte Pants and Tall Boots

Hello, my name is Deborah and even though I’m smiling casually, deep down inside, my over-the-knee boots are slipping down.
I really love the look of over-the-knee boots, and I find them really practical in the winter, especially with shorter hems like these culotte pants (they keep my legs warm!). But I always run into the problem of them sliding down my bare leg, all the way down to my ankles, no matter how tightly I tie the knot of my boots around my thighs! Even while walking to this particular location to take these photos, my boots fell down to my ankles and I was frustratedly trying to keep them on. I heard of boot bras, and I’ve tried them, but they don’t seem to work very well on me. Does anyone else have this issue? I can’t be the only one, can I?

I bought these culottes back when I was going through a culotte-loving phase last summer. I was introduced to this brand called The Brass and I got these culottes back then. I have since learned that they are a slow fashion brand that practices ethical manufacturing. They have a great page on their site about their factories that I highly encourage you to check out. In the meantime, these culottes are perfect for the winter with tall boots (as long as they don’t keep falling down). The black color makes them quite versatile year-round and the fabric has a nice light weight to it.

I got these over-the-knee boots by Catherine Malandrino when a new Nordstrom Rack opened here in DC. I really loved the gray color and that it looked similar to the Stuart Weitzman Highland boots. Unfortunately, as I mentioned above, they slide down my legs even when I tie them as tightly as I can. They don’t slide down as much when I’m wearing jeans though so I think there needs to be more friction for them to stay up, but I like the way the look with bare legs so I may just need to get high socks that can go underneath to help keep these up. I don’t know, if you have any thoughts, please let me know. I really do love these boots so I am really trying to make these work.
