Nine Feet Tall | Sézane Arthur Pants and Gingham Tank

I used to be stay far away from any piece that was loose and oversized, especially pants. When wide legged pants first started to be popular, I could imagine me in it, looking like I was drowning in fabric. At 5’3”, I am really particular about clothing length and wide legged pants just seemed like a really bad idea. But then I saw Sézane’s Arthur pants last Autumn and saw them on sale on Poshmark last winter and I reallllllly wanted to give them a try after seeing other petite bloggers wearing it. Call me a convert! When I first came out wearing these pants, Brian (who is 6’3”) was like, “whoa, you look really tall!” He said he felt he had to stand next to me to make sure I was still the same height! If that didn’t make me feel like a million bucks, I don’t know what will.

Sézane Arthur Pants
One thing that I expeced about the Sézane Arthur pants was that the legs would be too long for me… and I was right, I had to hem off at least six inches from the bottom. If you’re short and looking to try these pants too, just be warned. Other than that, these pants fit like a dream! I love wearing them with my tallest heel as the pants graze the floor a bit. Plus, the high waist makes me look nine feet tall so if you’re into that look, these are the pants for you!
I also realize that Sézane’s prices are pretty high for some. I bought my pants from Poshmark secondhand and I suggest you look there. Sézane is an ethical brand so to me, the costs are worth it for the quality of the pieces and the knowledge that these were made ethically. However, I’m sharing a couple of other similar pants if you’re looking for something in a different price point.

I think I really love the idea of this top more than the top itself. I mean, if you think about it, what’s not to love? It’s gingham, the straps are ruffled, and it’s a button up. In reality, I find this top difficult to wear. Firstly, the straps are too long and not adjustable at all. For some reason. the ruffles make my arms look really big, and finding the right bra to wear for this is so difficult. Still, I thought I’d give this top a try with these pants and while I love the way I look in these photos, I think it may be time to retire the tank. I felt pretty uncomfortable throughout shooting and I don’t really want to feel like that anymore. I’ll be selling this on my Poshmark account if any of you would like to check it out. I think it’d look really good on someone who’s taller, but just not on me.
