It’s officially summer and the heat and the humidity here in Washington, DC has been out of control! I’m talking 90 degree days (Fahrenheit) with over 70% humidity every day! Needless to say, I’ve been mostly stying in air-conditioned buildings or hanging out by the rooftop pool of my apartment building.
When I first thought about doing a shopping ban last year, I knew I wanted to prepare for summer. With my new wardrobe mission toward sustainability, I looked up ethical swimsuit brands and I discovered Albion Fit. While I only have one swimsuit from them, I’ve been drooling over their entire collection of swimsuits, beachwear, and workout clothes! If only I weren’t on a shopping ban right now…
About the brand
Albion Fit is a Utah-based family owned brand. They have two physical locations, both in Utah, but they ship worldwide. Their pieces are functional and practical with a vintage flair. Best of all, they’re committed to being a sustainable company and strive for green manufacturing practices by recycling plant waste and by using earth friendly materials. Cute swimwear that’s sustainable as well? I’m sold, and I hope you guys are too! I’m wearing their one-piece swimsuit in their “Island Fever” pattern and you wouldn’t believe the amount of compliments I got from friends and strangers alike.

I debuted this swimsuit at the pool in my apartment building. A lot of apartments in DC have rooftop pools so I had a gorgeous view of the city while I got my tan on! When these photos were taken, Brian’s parents were in town to visit and we invited a few friends to hang out with all of us. My friend Courtney thought this swimsuit was a two-piece at first when she saw the back. I really love the strategic cut outs of this piece. To say that I’m really picky about swimsuits is an understatement. I’m quite particular about fit and Albion Fit swimsuits fit like a glove! As with a lot of sustainable brands, the swimsuits are high quality but pricey. Personally, I think it’s worth every penny because you know that what you’re wearing did minimal harm to the environment and the manufacturers were paid a fair wage. Plus, the quality can’t be beat! It hits your curves in all the best possible places and is so flattering!
More About Albion Fit
Albion Fit’s sizing goes from XXS to XXL. They also sell men’s swimsuits and children’s swimsuits too so you can get matching suits for the whole family this summer! Like I said earlier, they also sell workout clothes and their leggings come in the same patterns as some of their swimsuits (so you know they’re using the same stock materials, thus reducing waste). They also sell regular clothes and if I weren’t on a shopping ban, I would get several pairs of their Jetsetter joggers because they look so comfortable and chic!
