My favorite season of the year is fall. My birthday is right on the cusp of summer and autumn so that definitely plays a big part in why, but I honestly love the slow changing of the weather from oppressive to cool. I love feeling cozy and comfy. I love the pretty colors of the leaves. And, most importantly, I love fall fashion! Sweaters and cardigans are an obvious most, of course, but surprisingly, I’ve really fallen in love with the cottagecore aesthetic, which has been a surprise for me because I never thought I would be into such a rustic vibe, fashion-wise, but here we are. I took my new look on the road to the National Arboretum this past weekend for a lovely walk around the park.
Pintuck Dress
When I first got this dress I thought it looked like a nightie. It’s flowy and a little shapeless so I had a hard time with styling, but I’ve come to love the look. I really love the pintuck stitching detail on the top half of the dress and the floral pattern is so cute. I feel so dainty in it! Paired with warm-tone accessories, and fall-appropriate additions, I really loved the way this outfit came together. I’m normally not a big hat person, but I LOVE wearing this felt hat with the dress. Just too cute!

Japanese Woodland
We found this lovely area in the National Arboretum called “Japanese Woodland.” The area of this park is supposed to resemble a forest in Japan. I’ve been reading this book called 1Q84 and parts of it take place in a forest and mountains so I was heavily reminded of that while here. If you ever have a chance to visit this part of the National Arboretum, I highly recommend it. I’t’s a lovely walk/hike, and it’s absolutely beautiful in the fall.
