Yellow is a really popular color this season, much to my chagrin. I've never really been satisfied with the way yellow looks on me. I think my skin undertones has too much yellow in it already so it's always been a challenge to find a yellow that doesn't wash me out. I bought this dress years ago when I was a junior in college studying abroad in Madrid, Spain. I didn't really take the specific shade of yellow into consideration when buying it and I had been going back and forth on trying to determine if I even liked the color on me or if I'm just keeping the dress around because I like the retro vibe of it. For now, I won't put it in the donate pile but I do have a few tips on looking for the right shade of yellow for your skin tone:
- If you're fair skinned with cool undertones, try for a mustard or dark yellow shade to create a contrast against your skin.
- If you're olive/medium skinned with warm undertones, try for bright yellows and primary color yellows to make the hue stand out.
- If you're dark skinned with deep undertones, you're in luck - most any shade of yellow will work for you! Go for a pastel yellow or even a neon yellow if you're feeling bold!

You nailed it with your advice wearing yellow on different skin tones! I'm glad you got this dress because the style is so cute and the shade looks good on you!

I think this shade looks great on you! Fall colors are supposed to look good on my skin tone, so I always go for a mustard-y hue.

I also find yellow quite difficult to wear, unless it's mustard because that's a much darker and less vibrand shade. This dress is super pretty, I like the retro look of it too, and the colour is really sweet!
