I don't know about you but after the holiday season I always write thank-you cards for people who got me gifts. Sure, you can send someone a text or make a phone call to say "thanks!" but there's something about a handwritten note. I know that I always love it when people send me handwritten letters so I can only imagine how happy others feel about receiving them too. Here are a few people you should most definitely remember to send a Thank You to:
- Someone who has made a positive impact in your life: My best friend has been my rock this year and she definitely deserves to know! Not only is Jen my oldest friend, she is the wisest, the most mature, and just overall the most badass-est! 2017 was full of trials that were emotionally exhausting for me but I always knew no matter what happened I could turn to her. Essentially, I want to thank her for continuing to be a part of my life and I encourage you all to do the same.
- Someone you work with: I used to work with some difficult people in the past so I know a great boss and a good working environment when I see it. I have been incredibly fortunate the last two years to work with a great boss and a great team of coworkers and I'm not afraid to let them know! I've written my boss a thank-you card for being great and let her know how much I enjoy working with her.
- People who have given me a gift: I made a page in my December bullet journal pages that listed who gave me a gift, what they got me, and whether or not a Thank You note was sent. This helped me a LOT when I started writing out my thank-yous after Christmas. If you didn't do it this year, I highly recommend keeping track of that next year!

My mom drilled the habit of thank you notes into me at a young age. Now I think it's crazy when people don't write thank you notes!

As I get older, I've become obsessed with thank you cards. I love buying them, I love giving them, and I love receiving them. Something I've started to do is write thank you cards to friends for being great humans!

ReplyDeleteHappy new year! Hope that this first week of 2018 is going well for you! We've been enjoying the warmer weather with some pool time, as it has been a particularly humid summer so far the pool has been a good idea.

ahh thank you cards are such a great idea! i've switched digital since it's better for the environment though!
ReplyDeleteAhhh I'm so behind on sending out thank you cards for Christmas! I always say I'm going to write them while watching Netflix, but then I just get lazy and crawl into bed. This year, I also want to send some "just because" card to brighten people's day :)

I love writing thank you notes to people! I usually try to include a few lines other than the thank-you part just updating them on Christmas, etc. It's so fun to receive in the mail, and I'd like to think we can keep continuing on the trend of hand-written mail even in this digital age!
ReplyDeleteMy mom ALWAYS made me write thank-you notes and I thought it was such a drag. Now I continue to write thank-you notes and appreciate one in return.
ReplyDeleteThank you cards are so important, almost as important as the initial gift or good deed done. I just mailed off all of my thank you cards for Christmas gifts and it puts a smile on my face knowing my snail mail is currently making it's way across the US.
ReplyDeleteAW <3 this is so sweet!
ReplyDeleteYes it's such a down to earth way to say thank you! I love that you do this! <3

I just spent the holidays with my boyfriend's family, and I sent them all thank you cards for the gifts they gave me and for letting me be a part of their family traditions. I think sending thank you cards is such an awesome gesture.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a nice attention! It's super important to thank people, it's such a positive message that could brighten their day. I'm a sucker for cards and always get some for all occasions, but I should definitely follow your example and send more thank you cards :)
